Recovery Tools

Recover funds sent to your Fiber address on a network Fiber doesn't support, using your encrypted wallet backup and an open-source tool that runs on your own device.

Fiber is non-custodial, so Fiber can't move funds for you, even when they're stuck. If you sent crypto to your Fiber address on a network Fiber doesn't support, it's still at that address, and your wallet backup holds the key to it. These tools use that backup to get the funds back on your own device.

A common case is USDT sent to your Fiber deposit address on opBNB (chain 204). The address exists on every EVM network, so the funds arrived, but the Fiber app doesn't show that network.

Start with the browser page. Use the CLI if you'd rather review and run the source yourself, need a Solana key, or want to check your private balances.

What you need

  • Your wallet backup. It's a .fiberseed file you export from the app. On mobile, go to Settings > Security > Export wallet seed. On the web, go to Settings > Backup & export. You set a password for the file while exporting.
  • The address you sent to, if you have it. Copy it from the transaction on the block explorer, or from the deposit screen you used. The browser page can also check your first accounts for you.
  • A little of the network's gas coin, such as BNB on opBNB, to pay the fee for moving the funds out. The tools tell you how much.

Keep it safe

  • Anyone with your backup file and its password can take everything in your wallet. Store them separately.
  • Fiber support will never ask for your backup file, its password or a private key. Anyone who does is trying to steal from you.
  • Download the tools only from this site and from github.com/fiberevm/cli. Check the browser page's SHA-256 before you open it.
  • Both tools decrypt your backup on your device. Neither sends your file, password or keys anywhere.

What these tools can't do

  • They can't recover funds without your backup file and its password. Fiber can't reset the password.
  • They don't move your private balance. Most of your USD in Fiber sits in your private (0zk) balance, not at a public address. Use the Fiber app to move it.
  • They can't reverse a transaction or recover funds sent to an address that isn't yours.
