Recover in Your Browser
Download Fiber's single-file recovery page, check its SHA-256, unlock your .fiberseed backup, find the address you sent to, and send the funds back out, all without installing anything.
The recovery page is one HTML file. You download it, open it in your browser, and it does the rest on your device: it unlocks your backup, finds the address you sent to, shows its balances, and sends the funds where you choose. Nothing is installed, and your backup, password and keys never leave the browser tab.
Fiber recovery page v0.1.0

The page decrypts your wallet, so make sure it's the real one before you open it. Its SHA-256 must match the one above exactly.
- Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/fiber-recovery-v*.html - Windows: open PowerShell and run
Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\fiber-recovery-v*.html - Linux: run
sha256sum ~/Downloads/fiber-recovery-v*.html
If the result is different, delete the file and don't open it.
Each version keeps the same file name and hash forever. The page is built from the open-source decoder in github.com/fiberevm/cli, so anyone can rebuild it and compare.
Open it
- On a computer: open the file in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. A private or incognito window is safer, because browser extensions can read any page you open.
- On Android: open the file from your Files app's Downloads and choose Chrome. Don't choose "HTML Viewer". It can't run the page.
- On iPhone or iPad: use a computer or an Android phone instead. iOS opens downloaded HTML files as a preview, and the page can't run there.
The page needs no internet connection to unlock your backup and find your address. It only goes online when you check balances or send, and then it talks only to the network you pick.
Recover your funds
- Unlock your backup. Choose your
.fiberseedfile and enter the password you set when you exported it. On a phone this can take a few seconds. - Find the address you sent to. The page lists the first 1,000 addresses in your backup. Type a few characters of yours, from the start or the end, or paste the whole address. A pasted address that matches opens straight away. Not sure which one you used? Tap Check to see the balances of your first 20 accounts on one network. The network's server sees those addresses together, which is why the page only does this when you ask.
- Pick the network the funds are on, such as opBNB. The page shows the balance of each token it knows. If yours isn't listed, open Token not listed? and paste the token's contract address from the block explorer.
- Add gas if you need it. Moving a token costs a small fee in the network's gas coin, such as BNB on opBNB. If the address has none, the page says so and shows the address to send it to. The smallest withdrawal an exchange allows is plenty. Then tap Refresh.
- Send. Choose what to send, enter the amount or tap Max, and paste the destination address. If it's an exchange, copy that exchange's deposit address for this exact network. Review the details, tick the confirmation, and tap Sign and send.
- Close the tab when the transaction shows Confirmed. The page links to it on the block explorer.
Prefer your own wallet? On the account screen, tap Export private key to import the key into a wallet such as MetaMask instead.
Networks
The page has opBNB, BNB Smart Chain, OP Mainnet, Avalanche C-Chain, Linea and Scroll built in. For any other EVM network, choose Other network and enter its chain ID and an https RPC address. The page checks that the RPC answers for that chain before it uses it.
Balances and transactions go through that network's public RPC server. It can see the addresses you check and your IP address, never your keys.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Wrong password, or the file is damaged." | The password doesn't match this file | Type it exactly, including capitals and spaces. Make sure it's the password for this export. |
| "That file is not a Fiber .fiberseed backup." | You chose a different file | Choose the .fiberseed file from your export |
| "Not in these accounts" | The address isn't in the first 1,000 accounts | Tap Search 9,000 more accounts, and check it's the right address and backup |
| "Nothing at this address on …" | The funds are on another network | Pick the network you sent on |
| "Add a little BNB to pay the fee" | The address can't pay the network fee yet | Send a small amount of the gas coin to the address shown, then tap Refresh |
| The page is blank or says it needs JavaScript | It opened in a file preview or HTML viewer | Open it in Chrome, Safari or Firefox |
| The file opens as text | Your browser didn't treat it as a web page | Make sure the name ends in .html, then open it with your browser |
