Sending Money
Send to other Fiber users, outside wallets, and US bank accounts.
You send from your USD balance. Fiber picks which stablecoins and networks to draw from and routes the money to wherever it needs to go.
Ways to send
On Home, tap Send, then choose:
- To a Fibertag: another Fiber user. Free, instant, and private.
- To a wallet address: an outside wallet or exchange, on the coin and network you pick.
- US Bank account: a US bank account, if you have US bank details set up.
- Scan QR: a Fiber user's code, or a wallet address. Mobile only.
You enter an amount in dollars, review it, then press and hold to confirm. If App Lock is on, Fiber asks for Face ID or your passcode. If extra protection is on, it also asks for a passkey or one-time code. See Account Security.
On the web, use Send privately on Home, or Move money > Send.
Only USD can be sent. To send something else, such as ETH, a stock, or gold, sell it to USD first.
To another Fiber user
Search for their exact Fibertag (the @ is optional), or pick them from your contacts or recent recipients. The send screen shows Instant · Free · Private.
The money moves as a private transfer inside Fiber. It usually arrives in about 20 seconds. The recipient sees your name, your Fibertag, and your photo, and gets a "Money received" notification. There is no public transaction and no explorer link.
To an outside wallet
- Enter or paste the address. On mobile, Fiber saves a new address as a contact with a private name that only you see.
- Use the Arrives as pill to choose the coin and network. It starts with the last route you used for that contact.
- Review the amount, the fees, and Recipient receives, then confirm.
You can send USDC or USDT to the networks listed in Supported Assets & Networks. Fiber checks that the address fits the network. EVM addresses start with 0x, and Solana addresses use a different format. There is no memo or tag field, so don't use this for an exchange deposit that requires a memo.
Solana: the recipient's wallet needs a USDC account before it can receive USDC. If it doesn't have one, the app asks you to have them set up USDC in their wallet first. Fiber doesn't create it for them.
Onchain sends can't be undone, and a send to an outside wallet is public on the destination network. Check the full address and the network before you confirm.
Fast and Standard
Some wallet sends have to cross networks. For those, the review screen offers a speed:
- Fast arrives in about a minute. A Fast transfer fee is added on top of the amount the recipient gets.
- Standard is free and slower. USDC takes about 20 minutes, and USDT takes about 20–25 minutes.
USDC sends start on Fast and USDT sends start on Standard. Switch speeds before you confirm. When Standard is selected, the Fast fee still shows, marked "Only charged with Fast." If Fast can't be used for a send, the review says "Fast transfer isn't available for this send."
Sends on the same network, and sends to Fiber users, have no speed choice. They are already quick.
Fees and limits
The review screen lists every cost before you confirm:
- Gas fee and Fiber fee show as free. Fiber pays network fees, bridge messaging, and Solana fees.
- Fast transfer fee, if you choose Fast.
- Conversion cost appears when no free route reaches the coin and network you picked, for example most sends to HyperEVM or Plasma. The amount shown is a maximum. Anything left over goes back to your balance.
The minimum send is $0.01, in whole cents. A quote lasts about a minute. If it has expired when you confirm, Fiber gets a fresh quote and asks you to confirm again.
Your available amount includes money that is earning rewards. Fiber withdraws it from the rewards strategy as part of the send. On mobile, tap the available amount to send all of it.
If a send fails
A send shows as pending, completed, or failed.
- Pending: "Sending privately… Usually takes about 20s". If it takes longer, the screen says so, and Fiber notifies you when it finishes. Fiber retries failed steps automatically before giving up.
- Failed: "Your transfer didn't go through" and "Your $… is still in your balance." Tap Try again to start the same send again, or Ask Fiber for help with it.
You can't cancel or reverse a send once it starts. If a send fails partway through a route, the money returns to your balance. Sometimes it comes back as a new deposit.
"Not enough from balances found" means your USD is spread across coins and networks that can't all reach that destination in one send. Try a smaller amount, a different coin or network, or two sends.
References and transaction hashes
Every activity has a reference you can copy from its receipt. Activity search finds it too. The first two letters tell you the type:
| Prefix | Activity |
|---|---|
TX | Transfer |
DP | Deposit |
TD | Trade |
BK | US bank transfer |
CW | Canadian bank withdrawal |
References are safe to share with support.
For a send to an outside wallet, the receipt also shows Sent as (the coin and network) and Transaction, a short hash that opens the network's block explorer. The completion email includes the hash too. Transfers between Fiber users are private, so they have no public hash.
Withdraw to a US bank
If you have US bank details, choose Send > US Bank account. Then add the recipient (Myself, Someone else, or Business) and the bank details.
- ACH usually settles in 1–3 business days. The cutoff is 4:00 PM ET.
- Wire usually settles the same business day. The cutoff is 5:45 PM ET, and the app shows a $14 fee.
- Requests made after the cutoff, or on a weekend, start the next business day.
- The minimum is $2. You can have one withdrawal processing per saved bank account.
- If the bank returns a withdrawal, the money comes back to your balance.
See Virtual Accounts for eligibility.
Sends started by the assistant
You can ask the Fiber assistant to send money, for example "Send $20 to @alex." It shows a card with the exact details. Nothing moves until you tap Confirm and pass the security check. A card expires after 10 minutes, and assistant sends use free routes only.
